We want everyone to be able to use our website with ease, regardless of any disability or assistive technology.
Dienstencentrum Grootseminarie Brugge is committed to making and keeping its website accessible to all visitors. We believe everyone should be able to consult our information and services independently, including people who use a screen reader, keyboard navigation or other assistive technology.
The standard we aim for
This website is designed to meet the international web accessibility guidelines WCAG 2.1 at level AA. This is the same standard (EN 301 549) that underpins the European Accessibility Act.
What we do for accessibility
In concrete terms, we have taken the following measures, among others:
- Semantic, logically structured markup with clear headings.
- Text alternatives (alt text) for all meaningful images.
- Full keyboard operation with a clearly visible focus indicator.
- Sufficient colour contrast between text and background (at least AA).
- Respect for the system setting to reduce motion and animations.
- A skip link that lets you jump straight to the main content.
- Clear labels on every field of the booking and contact forms.
Accessibility button
At the top right of every page you will find an accessibility button (the icon with the figure). It lets you set a few preferences yourself: larger text, higher contrast, reduced motion and underlined links. Your choice is saved on your own device and remains active on your next visit.
Known limitations
Our website contains some third-party components, such as an embedded video player and map material. These are not fully under our control and may not meet the standard in every respect. Where possible we offer an equivalent alternative through text or a direct contact channel.
